ENTRY:
There will be a $35.00 entry fee (per style) U.S. &
Canadian athletes for online registration.
Online registration for Greco-Roman closes at 7 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, 11/12/09. Online registration for Freestyle closes at 7 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, 11/19/09. On-Site entry fee will be $45 (per style) U.S. &
Canadian athletes for on-site registration.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
The champion of the men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman
division will be awarded $1,000 (U.S. and/or foreign athletes). The champion of the
women’s division will be awarded $400 (U.S. and/or foreign athletes). Men’s freestyle
and Greco-Roman: 2nd=$500; 3rd=$250 (U.S. Citizens ONLY) and Women: 2nd=$200
(U.S. Citizens ONLY). Foreign athletes are eligible for 1st place prize money only.
Awards will be given to the Outstanding Wrestler in each division. Awards will be
highlighted on podium, please be present in uniform to pick up your award!
TEAM AWARDS:
Attractive awards to the top three placers in each division. USA
Wrestling sanctioned clubs are eligible to enter. Team registration must take place during the
time indicated on the attached schedule

place winners at each weight class.
RULES:
The rules of FILA, with current USA Wrestling modifications where applicable,
will govern the event and the competition.
UNIFORMS:
Red and blue high-cut singlets, or red/blue high-cut reversible singlet
with underbriefs required. For the women’s division, a collegiate or women's singlet is
required and a sleeveless sport top is to be worn under the singlet (no t-shirts).
PAIRINGS:
FILA bracketing and/or double elimination with consolation wrestle backs
to third place. There will be a blind computer draw after the initial weigh-in.
COACHING:
Coach’s passes will be issued only to those persons with a current USAW
Coach’s Membership Card and affiliation with a registered club or contestant. Coach’s
Membership Cards
must be obtained online via www.themat.com . All coaches must have a background check so please allow for at minimum of one (1) week processing time.
MEDICAL INFORMATION:
Athletes must be prepared and must submit to a skin
disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without
appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.
In the event of injury or illness, no contestant will be permitted to continue the
competition without approval of the Chief Medical Officer, whose decision is final and
not subject to appeal.
WEIGH-INS:
Athletes must weigh in during their respective scheduled weigh-in
times, per FILA regulations. The weight divisions for the event are:
MEN’S WEIGHT DIVISIONS:
55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 74kg, 84kg, 96kg, and 120kg. All
weigh-ins will be conducted in kilograms. A 2kg weight allowance will be given at
weigh-ins.
WOMEN’S WEIGHT DIVISIONS:
48kg
, 51kg, 55kg, 59kg, 63kg, 67kg,
and 72kg. All weigh-ins will be conducted in kilograms. A 2kg weight allowance will be
given at weigh-ins. ELIGIBILITY:
All contestants & coaches must present a current USA Wrestling Membership Card.
Coaches must be a minimum of bronze certified.
Athlete membership cards MUST be acquired online at www.themat.com or from the State Chairperson or State Membership Director of contestant's state of residence. Athlete membership cards should be purchased prior to arriving in New York . If you have any questions of concerns please contact USAW State Services Department at (719) 598-8181 . Secondary sports accident insurance is
provided as a benefit of membership. No pre-qualification required.
AGE ELIGIBILITY:
Competitors in the men’s division must have been born in 1989 or before. Men competitors born in 1990-1991 must have a medical certificate from a medical doctor or certified trainer in order to compete. Competitors in the women’s division must have been born in 1989 or before. Women competitors born in 1990-1992 must have a medical certificate from a medical doctor or certified trainer in order to compete.
UNIVERSITY WORLD TEAM TRIALS QUALIFIER:
Wrestlers who meet the U.S. citizenship
requirements necessary for representing the USA in the University World Games and are
the highest placing University Age athlete (must place in the top four) of the 2009 NYAC Holiday
International Open, qualify for the 2010 University World Team Trials in Colorado Springs, CO.
SENIOR WORLD TEAM TRIALS QUALIFIER:
Wrestlers who meet the U.S. citizenship requirements necessary for representing the USA in the 2010 World Championship and are the highest place finisher from current fiscal year from the NYAC International Tournament will qualify for the 2010 World Team Trials. However, the athlete must place in the top four (4) and not already be qualified. If a person qualifies at multiple events the qualification from the first competition is the one that will be used.
DRESS CODE IF IN LOBBY OF THE NYAC:
Males must wear sport coats and slacks (no sneakers, no jeans).
Females must wear casual business attire (no sneakers, no jeans).
Athletes dressed in athletic attire may use the back entrance at 58th St and 7th Ave.
NYAC personnel are instructed not to allow admission to anyone not meeting the above requirements, regardless of whether it is a competitor or spectator and we, therefore suggest that you plan accordingly so that you will be able to participate in this event. ENTRIES OPEN UNTIL WEIGH-IN.
WEIGH-IN WILL TAKE PLACE IN BASEMENT WRESTLING ROOM OF THE NYAC. WRESTLING WILL BE ON 6TH FLOOR GYMNASIUM.
